HEB stands by their commitment, by giving back over $10 million annually to Texas education.

McClelland oversees over 300 HEB Food/Drug stores across Texas. HEB is well known as an innovative retailer with a major focus on the Texas customer. They have a strong focus on building better communities and supporting Texans when crises arise. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Southern California and is also a graduate of Harvard’s Advanced Management Program.

McClelland serves on the Executive Committee at the Greater Houston Partnership. Before co-founding Good Reason Houston, he served as former Chairman on the Greater Houston Partnership Board of Directors and was Board Chair of the Houston Food Bank. His service exemplifies his passion and dedication to the Houston area.

McClelland said, “I support Good Reason Houston because I am committed to the educators who make a difference every day in the lives of our children. Stepping up to lead the Board was an easy decision, knowing that the needs for kids all over the city, from various backgrounds, are still great. We have a lot of work to do, and I’m eager to help Good Reason Houston get closer to reaching their goal of improving public school education for every child in every neighborhood.”

Good Reason Houston partners with school districts to transform the quality of public education in the region. Their ambitious goals are directly aligned with the disparities and equitable opportunities in the region.

Equity in education is Good Reason Houston CEO Alex Elizondo’s, main priority. “Getting to work with Scott, a true champion for Houston students, is so rewarding. His expertise and dedication to service will help ensure a better future for students and their families.”
