HOUSTON- Thousands of families gathered at George R. Brown Convention Center for the 14th Annual Mayor’s Back 2 School Fest on Saturday and Good Reason Houston was proud to be a part of the back-to-school excitement. The much-anticipated event, supported by numerous organizations, provided supplies and resources to elementary school students and their families as they prepare for the upcoming school year.
In its commitment to supporting Houston students, Good Reason Houston sponsored and participated in the event, providing free backpacks, pens, stickers, and information about improving education in Houston.
“It’s events like these – where we get to engage with families directly and we see community leaders coming together for a cause – that I’m optimistic Houston can become the top education city in the nation,” Good Reason Houston Audience Engagement Manager Adrian Perez said.
This year, 25,000 backpacks courtesy of Shell were filled with essential school supplies and distributed to Houston-area students, while vital health services, including vision and dental screenings were available on site.
