Good Reasons
Our vision requires a great public school in every neighborhood, but this is not Houston’s current reality. 514,000 students attend school in Houston, but every morning, 265,000 of them walk into a struggling school. We know school quality matters for students and their futures, which is why we are on a mission to increase the number of students learning in great public schools.

Every Child Every Neighborhood
Good Reason Houston champions a bold, community-wide vision that every child, in every neighborhood, excels in a world-class public school and thrives in the Houston of tomorrow.
Our Role
Good Reason Houston exists to accelerate progress within school districts and promote courageous decisions that improve the quality of our public schools. We build deep partnerships to improve student achievement and sustain long-term change across Houston.

Our Work
We develop transformational partnerships with both traditional ISDs and high-quality charter schools to Accelerate District Transformation. We partner with superintendents and leadership teams to improve existing schools and create new high-performing ones. While we believe these partnerships will create lasting change, we know districts cannot do it alone, so we work to cultivate a Supportive Ecosystem that continually fuels our schools with the talent and community support needed to ensure every child has access to a high-quality school.
