Houston is home to extraordinary educators who are proving that it is possible to create schools where every student, regardless of background, language, or test scores, feels seen, supported, and set up to thrive. As our city grows, so does the urgency for inclusive, high-quality schools that reflect the full potential of our students.
What if we could learn from what’s already working, and imagine what’s possible when every child is given the opportunity to succeed?
Over the past year, Good Reason Houston has been exploring campuses where all students as a whole and each and every student population individually (SpEd, Black, Latino, Eco Dis, Emergent Bilingual, etc.) are achieving above both the state and local averages and spotlighting the brightest examples through their Schools That Inspire distinction. This September, we’ll be taking a handful of Houston leaders to see one of these schools in action.
On September 15th in partnership with the Inspiration Project, Good Reason Houston will be convening a small group of district and school leaders to explore how we can expand quality instruction for all students across our city.
During this experience, we will get a chance to visit and learn from a few of these campuses.. We’ll learn from their leaders, families, and community members and walk away with insights that can strengthen the systems that shape student success citywide.
At Harmony School of Fine Arts & Technology, students embark on a journey where creativity and academic excellence converge. In a vibrant environment that celebrates diversity and inclusion, every child is empowered to explore their unique potential. Through a commitment to high expectations and a collaborative community, Harmony fosters a space where learning is not only meaningful but also inspiring.
This is a focused, one-day field experience designed for deep learning and connection.
You’ll:
We’ll close the day with happy hour for informal connection and continued conversation.
To get the most out of the experience, we ask all participants to be fully present throughout the day.
Ahead of the day, you’ll receive a detailed logistics memo with info on where to meet, what to bring, and the day’s schedule. When you register, you’ll be able to share your dietary preferences and any accessibility needs we can support.
We strongly encourage full-day participation. The experience is designed as a holistic journey, from school visit to shared dialogue. The optional happy hour will be at the end of the day.
