Book Drive Raises Over 1,000 Books for Kids

November 5, 2022 – Good Reason Houston and partners hosted Books ‘N Brunch to raise books for Houston, Aldine, Waller, and Hempstead students.

Through this partnership, Prairie View A&M University’s Alumni Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Top Ladies of Distinction (Houston chapter), Omega Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc., and Sigma Iota Alpha Sorority, Inc. raised almost 1,200 books. The mission of this service project was multifaceted: to help build campus and at-home libraries for students, and to assist the National Association of Latino Fraternal Organizations (NALFO) in their yearly day of service.

Also, there was a supportive outpouring from Houston businesses and organizations – ChipMonk Baking and Project Row Houses – who donated door prizes including bakery giveaways, backpacks, school supplies, gift cards, and more.
