Good Reason Houston names Scott McClelland, HEB President, Board Chair
The President of HEB, Scott McClelland, will lead the Board of Directors of Houston-area education nonprofit, Good Reason Houston. McClelland supported the creation of Good Reason Houston in 2017, with financial backing from the Kinder Foundation and the Houston Endowment. Similar to HEB, Good Reason Houston is dedicated to enhancing education for all students in Houston by bridging achievement gaps. HEB stands by their commitment, by giving back over $10 million annually to Texas education.
McClelland oversees over 300 HEB Food/Drug stores across Texas. HEB is well known as an innovative retailer with a major focus on the Texas customer. They have a strong focus on building better communities and supporting Texans when crises arise. He graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Southern California and is also a graduate of Harvard’s Advanced Management Program.
McClelland serves on the Executive Committee at the Greater Houston Partnership. Before co-founding Good Reason Houston, he served as former Chairman on the Greater Houston Partnership Board of Directors and was Board Chair of the Houston Food Bank. His service exemplifies his passion and dedication to the Houston area.
