Good Reason Houston and Contigo Ed partner with three Houston-area districts on a new postsecondary pathways initiative
Good Reason Houston and Contigo Ed are partnering with Pasadena ISD, Spring ISD, and Channelview ISD on a two-year initiative designed to help more students move from high school into education or training that leads to a living wage employment.
The Texas Postsecondary Pathways Project, brings together Good Reason Houston and Contigo Ed as partners in the work, alongside district leadership teams committed to building stronger postsecondary pathways for their students.
Leadership teams from all three districts gathered July 27–28 at Houston Community College’s Felix Fraga Academic Campus to launch the partnership. Over the next two years, participating high schools will work through a shared process: reviewing data on college, career, and military readiness (CCMR), setting goals together, and building clear plans with defined owners and timelines.
“We are looking to move beyond a high school diploma with our students” said Resheda Malveaux, Associate Principal at Westfield HS in Spring ISD.
This work reflects something Good Reason Houston and Contigo Ed care deeply about: ensuring students experience a streamlined journey from classroom to career.
