Houston Texans Foundation, Good Reason Houston to Surprise Aldine ISD Teacher as part of Houston Loves Teachers Campaign

Good Reason Houston, in partnership with the Houston Texans Foundation, surprised an exceptional teacher at Griggs Primary School in Aldine ISD this Friday as part of the citywide Houston Loves Teachers campaign.

The event included a festive, student-led hallway parade featuring Houston Texans cheerleaders and beloved mascot Toro, culminating in a high-energy pep rally where Jamiraquia Jackson was honored. As part of the celebration, Jackson received a personalized Houston Texans jersey and all school staff enjoyed complimentary drinks from Travelin’ Tom’s Coffee Truck. See photos from the event here.

Jackson was selected to be celebrated during the pep rally because of her commitment to expanding her skills and impact on students.

“Ms. Jackson’s professional demeanor, tireless advocacy for students, and consistent engagement in professional development — from district trainings to mastering new digital and hands-on teaching strategies — truly set her apart,” Griggs Primary School Principal Sherree Johnson said. “Ms. Jackson’s magic is evident in the profound impact she has on her students, colleagues, and the Griggs Primary family.”

The celebration was one of many hosted throughout the year as part of Houston Loves Teachers, a campaign designed to elevate and support the teaching profession across the city.

“This campaign is about more than appreciation—it’s about recognizing the heart and soul of our schools,” said Stefanie Solar Cruz, Managing Director of Houston Loves Teachers at Good Reason Houston. “We’re thrilled to partner with the Houston Texans Foundation to shine a light on the incredible educators who make a difference every day in students’ lives. When we celebrate teachers, we strengthen our entire city.”
